Horses are such a big part of the countryside. Jon did have a riding lesson on his 5th Birthday and we have a little hazy picture of him on Wimbledon Common. In Cumbria riding is part of life and our boys have just joined the ranks of she-riders at Ride it Rite stables.

Sara’s Ride - it - Rite stables is where the mare (Josie) and foal (Toby) in our field hail from. Whilst at the stables most of the girls do serious work with horses, our boys just hang around, run, ride a bit, chat to girls (starting early) and play with dogs. Sara has a fantastic arrangement that works for all the children and, because the stable are down a bumpy lane well away from the road, all the children have a great time running and riding on the lanes and tracks surrounding the stables. We even had a picnic there during half term.
