Juggling ahead of Christmas
I am feeling like one of our mute swans at the moment. I think I’m still managing to seem serene and under control but, beneath the surface, I am paddling like mad.
All the Tranquil Otter lodges are booked up the New Year and there’s lots happening with the usual juggling of shopping, hiding gifts and trying to find time to decorate the house (and the lodges) for the holidays. I love the atmosphere of Christmas and am almost missing last winter’s snow.
The birds and wildlife on and around the Lough outside carry on regardless of the season and it puts things into perspective to watch them – no rush and no hassle even though there is lots going on and lots to do.
To add to everything, we’re already planning for 2012. Valentine’s Day is always good for The Tranquil Otter as our one-bedroom lodges are ideal for romantic escapees but we’ve also realised that it’s a Leap Year too so there might be people out there planning a 29 February proposal in a romantic setting. It would be lovely to host something so romantic and I think we have a memorable spot for anyone out there who is thinking about taking such a step.
We think it’s about as romantic as it gets!
