Things to do for couples

Try our luxury 4 hand full body massage. This is a synchronised massage delivered by two therapists using precious blended aromatherapy oils.
Do nothing much; our lodges have all mod cons, organise your take away and sit back and enjoy the tranquillity.
Enjoy the outdoors
Thurstonfield Lough once powered the local corn mills, even in times of low rainfall. Today it is a precious wetland area and refuge for waterfowl, such as coots, grebes and many kinds of duck and goose. Walk around the private paths through the woods and test your general knowledge of British Bird life in the on-site bird hide.
Get into the holiday mode, don your boots, pack your picnic and start the six-mile walk around the Solway villages from outside of your lodge.
Take a picnic to Crummock Water, or visit Dodds Wood – there is lots to do and see. Explore Cumbria’s many historic houses and beautiful English gardens - ask us for details.
Hadrian’s Wall is on our doorstep, if you would like to explore the many forts and walks - ask us for maps.
Download the Solway walks map. There are a number of walks available in your lodge and from us.
Record and share your memories
Keep a record of your memories through photography. Test your camera’s capabilities and capture the beautiful landscape and wild life of Cumbria. Please share your photos with us.
Get Active: Run, Cycle and Ride

Learn to fly fish with experts, fly a microlyte and enjoy the scenery or you could even train a sheep dog (one of our guests recently took up that suggestion and had a whale of a time).
