Dog Friendly @ The Tranquil Otter

Have a great UK holiday with your dog in beautiful Cumbria. Here at the Tranquil Otter we welcome dogs who are well behaved. You, your family and your dog can enjoy walks in the beautiful Cumbria countryside that surrounds us or travel 20 miles into the Lake District National park.

The Tranquil Otter is a great place to bring your dog on holiday, there is a mile walk through the woods around the Lough. We ask that you keep your dog on lead around the site, however if you fancy taking longer walks then the Solway is a great place to go, where there are local pubs that do good food and welcome dogs.

The nearest pub that allows dogs in the bar is The Greyhound Inn in Brugh by Sands.

The Hope and Anchor Inn at Port Carlisle is about 4 miles and worth the effort. Dogs are well catered for outside or in the bar and being next to the Solway there is plenty of space to walk your pet before or after a drink and a game of pool.

The Kings Arms at Bowness on Solway also allows dogs in their bar section.

For other pets please ask but the terms of our status as a Site of Special Scientific Interest means that we cannot take any undomesticated animal that might take up resident with us on a permanent basis.
