Accessible Weekend Breaks in Cumbria, the Lake District county. The Tranquil Otter provides stress free luxury and accessible holiday accommodation that caters for family members with restricted mobility or disability. Wheelchair users will find excellent facilities as well as an opportunity to enjoy woodlands around the lake or take to the lake in a specially adapted wheely boat.

At the Tranquil Otter we aim to provide stress-free luxury holiday accommodation in a stunning location with excellent facilities for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility.Our lodges and woodland walks are fully accessible and we have a wheely boat that enables wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility access to our private lake.

Each accessible lodge provides five star self catering family acommodation and caters for family members with a disability or restricted mobility.

All our luxury lodges are accessible for wheel chair users and four of our lodges have achieved M1 and M2 ratings under the National Accessible Scheme.

Wheel chair users are well catered for with facilities such as private saunas in lodges 4 and 7 and hottubs in lodges 1 and 3.

These three lodges are fully accessible for wheelchair users and have been awarded the National Accessible Scheme's level M2 and 5 star by Visit Britian.

We have a further Luxury Lodge that has been graded M1 under the National Accessible Scheme.

Luxury Lodge 1 (sleeps 4) is NAS Graded M1 and Visit Britain graded 5 Star.

Each of the accessible lodges has parking nearby with a short path and a gentle ramp giving access to the lodge. The decking to the front of the lodge is accessible and being right at the waters edge gives superb lake views.

(The Retreat Health Spa will do treatments on site as a special favour to Tranquil Otter residents however this is subject to availability and requires booking well in advance so as to allow planning by The Retreat. To discuss/book you must talk to Tina, the owner, as it is not a service that other staff will necessarily be aware of.
