The Lough House joins the Tranquil Otter collection

Self-Catering Carlisle

We’re delighted to announce that the Lough House is now part of the Tranquil Otter accommodation portfolio. It’s perfect for large families, or groups of friends spending time together. We’re busy putting the finishing touches to the interior décor and naturally, it will be fully furnished in the next two weeks. In the meantime, the pictures of the empty interior can give you a flavour of just how vast and spacious the Lough House really is.   Overlooking a private lake, the Lough House has its own lovely gardens where you can spread out, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can take a boat onto the lake and really experience the wonderful wildlife, or go for a leisurely stroll through the secluded woodlands where you can sit and watch the birds from the hide.

Plenty of room for everyone

There are five double bedrooms (three with en-suite facilities) allowing 10 people to spread out and live very comfortably. One of the en-suite double bedrooms is on the ground floor which makes it ideal for any member of your group with limited mobility.   The house is dog-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement.

Wedding party overflow

The Lake District is a very popular place for weddings, but many Lake District hotels cannot accommodate all guests under the same roof, particularly large extended families. The Lough House is an ideal place for up to 10 people to spread out and prepare for the ‘big day’ or to relax for a few days after the festivities are over.

Latest technology in a delightful rural setting

There aren’t many places where you can get the full ‘getting away from it all’ experience combined with superfast broadband and Smart TV technology. Well, The Lough House allows everyone in your party to stay connected with the outside world while enjoying the magical natural surroundings of the lake, the wildlife and woodlands.

Plenty of things to see and do

The Lough House is close to Hadrian’s Wall, The Lake District National Park and the Solway Coast AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). In under an hour you can drive over the Scottish border and explore Dumfries and Galloway. Just five minutes away, the historic city of Carlisle offers history, magnificent buildings, museums, shopping and plenty of places to eat and drink.
