It doesn’t have to be about fancy restaurants, roses and champagne, there are other ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day. Cumbria and the Lake District is well known for its connection to the Romantic poets such as William Wordsworth, Samuel Coleridge and Thomas de Quincey. The landscape and the colours have inspired some very famous romantic poetry over the years. We’ve picked out some ideas and beauty spots to act as a backdrop to one of the most romantic days in the year.
